Untapped potential
286 words on how to unlock it
Many moons ago, I took a course called “The Million Dollar Day” by the late great Mark Hoverson.
The idea was simple … prime your mindset and your environment to welcome in millions. After all, it’s a lot easier to feel like a millionaire when your surroundings reflect that energy.
The challenge was to dedicate 24 hours to:
Clearing unused clutter, junk, and trash.
Donating items like tools, electronics, and equipment so others can make better use of them.
Deep cleaning and appreciating prized possessions. For me, that meant taking my beat-up Honda to the best detailing shop in town.
And my personal favorite—unlocking untapped potential.
In physics, potential energy is the stored energy an object has due to its position, electric charge, or internal stresses.
The same principle can apply to your business and the resources you have at your fingertips.
To demonstrate this Mark told us the story of his beloved Leica camera, that would take museum quality prints, archiving his family’s journey, that could be passed down as a family heirloom.
But for years, it sat untouched in a file drawer.
The question he asked was simple: “What would it cost to unlock that camera’s potential?”
For him, the answer was:
Spending $150 on a photography class.
Buying a $60 leather strap so he’d keep it with him.
And investing $29 in a lens cleaner.
That $239 investment transformed a dormant $6,000 Leica into a priceless memory-making machine.
There is untapped potential all around us. From that unused podcasting microphone to the beautiful outfit that just needs tailoring.
My question to you today is, “What would it cost to unleash your potential?”
A little effort and focus can go a long way.
Cheers,
