This is What's Wrong With Your Business

And What to Focus on at Each Level of Growth

Success rarely shows up exactly how you plan for it.

It’s easy to look back and connect the dots, but trying to reverse-engineer your path to success and map it out step-by-step? That never goes as planned.

So, let’s set aside the idea that you’ll know all the variables before you start. That ship is long gone.

Instead, let me share how I’ve helped hundreds of coaches go from earning less than $10k to scaling beyond multiple six figures. And the secret? It’s less about following a linear process and more about optimizing independent systems.

Here are 4 key rules to remember:

  1. Every system requires attention.

  2. No system needs to be perfect to operate.

  3. Each system is always in a state of optimization, not completion.

  4. Your business size determines which system gets the most focus.

Here’s what that looks like at each stage:

Under $10k/Month: You Have a Relevancy Problem

You’re not clearly explaining what you do, who you do it for, or the specific problem you solve. My guess, is that your offer might be all over the place too. To break through, you need to zero in on messaging and refine how you present your services.

$10k to $25k/Month: You Have an Audience Problem

You’ve squeezed your current audience for clients, but now you’re hitting a plateau. The mistake? Assuming you can get the same results by squeezing the same audience again. Don’t double dip. Double your audience size.

$25k to $50k/Month: You Have a Time Problem

Your business model is starting to break down. You’ve likely made the wrong hires or put people in the wrong roles, and your risk exposure is high. If one major revenue stream or ad account gets disrupted, you could be three months away from disaster.

$50k to $100k/Month: You Have a Stress Problem

At this point, your business is running you. The model has grown too big, and you feel like you can’t stop. Growth has outpaced your value system, and you’re struggling to maintain a healthy mental space.

So, what do you do next? You have 3 options:

  1. Trial and error—keep experimenting and hope you eventually figure it out.

  2. Chase after a new strategy, hoping it solves your problem.

  3. What I believe you truly want — is someone who can look at your life, your values, and help you build a business that aligns with who you are, not just another quick-fix strategy.

Most entrepreneurs, in their rush to solve their problem, overlook a crucial factor: there are many ways to build a sustainable business. Just because a strategy works for someone else doesn’t mean it’s right for you. The key question you need to ask is: Does this path match with my values?

From my experience, most entrepreneurs don’t just want a profitable business—they want one that feels deeply aligned with who they are. Building that kind of business takes foresight and a willingness to evaluate the human behind the business, not just the mechanics.
