They Couldn’t Pick Out a $2M Violin

In 2012, the Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences conducted a double-blind study to see if expert players could distinguish a $2M Stradivarius from newer models.

In a small room, no one could identify any noticeable difference.

But when played in a concert hall, the Stradivarius was immediately, unmistakably recognized. Its full beauty and value became apparent only in the right setting.

Think of yourself as that Stradivarius—with your unique gifts, talents, and abilities. Your value can’t be fully realized by your talents alone, it requires the right stage and the right audience to amplify it.

So my question for you today is this:

Are your gifts going unnoticed because you’re choosing to play in a small room?

Cheers,
