Stop dipping your toe in

I procrastinated on writing this email.

Which is funny because this email is literally about procrastination.
The irony is not lost on me.

Here’s the thing though — most people don’t fail because they picked the wrong thing to do.
They fail because they keep putting off doing the right thing.

It’s like standing at the edge of a cold pool in summer.

You know you should jump in.
You know you’ll feel amazing once you’re swimming.

But instead, you spend 20 minutes dipping your toe in.
Walking around the edge.
Asking everyone how cold they think the water is.

Meanwhile, some 8-year-old cannonballs past you and is having the time of their life.

That’s basically business.

The path isn’t wrong.
The timing isn’t wrong.
Your idea isn’t wrong.

The postponing is what’s killing you.

Because every day you wait is another day someone else isn’t waiting.
They’re not smarter than you.
They don’t have some secret cheat code you don’t know about.

They just decided to jump in the damn pool.

I see this all the time with people who want to launch an offer.
They spend months “researching” and “learning” when they could just write an outline in 15 minutes and pitch it.

Imperfect action beats perfect planning every single time.

So here’s what I recommend: stop trying to see the entire staircase before you take the first step.
Just take the step.

And if you want help taking that first step — I’ve got something coming very soon. Stay tuned.
