Action beats thinking every time

Most people think their way into a rut.

Then they think their way deeper into it.

I did this for a long time with writing. I knew I needed to write more. I just never did.

Then I stumbled onto something dumb and simple.

I started showing up 30 minutes early to pick up my kid from school. I'd sit in the parking lot with my notes app open. No music. No scrolling. Just me and my thoughts.

Some days I wrote something I was proud of. Other days I wrote total garbage. Both were totally fine.

Here's the thing nobody tells you about getting unstuck.

It's not about the result. It's about showing up when it feels uncomfortable. Over and over again.

That's the whole secret.

So I made one rule for myself. Schedule it. Even 15 minutes counts. Put it on the calendar like a meeting you can't skip.

Then I stopped worrying about finishing. I just showed up and let it be messy.

Little by little I got better. I went from one email a week to two or three. All from sitting in a parking lot with my phone.

You don't need perfect conditions. You just need to start.

So what's one thing you've been avoiding this week? Put it on the calendar today.

Seriously. Right now.
